ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client's accounting team in the Fresno area. In this role, you will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly basis
• Maintain and audit payroll records, ensuring accuracy of wages, deductions, and tax withholdings
• Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for finance and HR leadership
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and timekeeping discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws, garnishments, and tax regulations
• Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees and process status changes, terminations, and leaves of absence
• Assist with year-end payroll tasks including W-2 preparation and reconciliation

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 or more years of payroll processing experience required
• Proficiency in ADP
• Strong knowledge of California payroll laws and federal tax regulations
• High level of accuracy and discretion when handling confidential employee information
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and payroll journal entries
• Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Excel preferred
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field a plus
