Position Summary
The Junior Staff Accountant supports the accounting team with daily accounting operations and month-end activities. This role assists with general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and administrative accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and looking to grow within an accounting career.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general ledger entries and journal entry preparation
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Prepare supporting schedules and basic financial reports
- Assist with expense tracking and account analysis
- Support audits, tax preparation, and compliance documentation
- Work closely with senior accounting staff on special projects
- Identify discrepancies and assist in resolving accounting issues
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 0–2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (internships accepted)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar is a plus)
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment
