Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join a growing client in the Fresno area. In this role, you will analyze manufacturing and operational costs to support strategic business decisions and improve profitability. Key Responsibilities

Analyze and monitor standard costs, variances, and cost of goods sold on a regular basis
Prepare and review monthly cost reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Maintain and update the bill of materials and labor cost data in coordination with operations
Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Conduct inventory audits and reconcile physical inventory counts to system records
Identify cost-saving opportunities and present findings to management
Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and analysis

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2 or more years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution
Strong understanding of GAAP and standard costing principles
Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and complex formulas
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not required
