Accounting Specialist - Construction Industry

Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. This role involves managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare and maintain financial reports and documentation - Job costing
- Support audit preparation and respond to inquiries from auditors
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies in accounting records
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial controls

Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles within Construction
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
